Prof. Dr. Esen Onat bu kitabında; geometrinin üç boyutlu asal formlarını kullanarak ve bu formları işleyerek mimari formlar üretmedeki temel teknikleri ve yaklaşımları, belirli bir sistematik içinde ortaya koymakta ve örneklemektedir. Kitlesel form, mimarlık ürününün fiziksel ve toplumsal çevresiyle ilişkilerini belirleyen işlevsel, mekânsal, tinsel, simgesel, anlamsal vb. yüklemler taşıyan çok yönlü bir olgudur. Bu nedenle de mimarın en duyarlı olduğu problem alanlarından biridir. Tüm formların geometrik asal formlardan elde edilebileceği düşünüldüğünde, öncelikle herkesin tanıdığı saf, asal geometrik formları işleme ve kullanma tekniklerini tanıtmak, ayrıca geçmişteki ve günümüzdeki değişik ihtiyaçlara, teknolojilere ve eğilimlere karşın geometrik asal formların, hemen her dönemde, benzer tekniklerle kullanıldıklarını örneklemek, bu çalışmanın başlıca amacı olmuştur. In this book, the intention of Prof. Dr. Esen Onat is to introduce and exemplify systematically, the basic techniques and approaches in the creation of architectural forms by using and processing the basic forms of space geometry. The form of a building is a phenomenon having functional, spatial, sprituel, semantic and other predicates determining the relationship of the architectural product with its physical and social environment. For these reasons architects are very sensitive on the subject of form-desicion. Knowing that all forms can be obtained from the basic forms of geometry, the main purpose of this study is to determine the simple techniques in processing and using the basic forms of space geometry known by everybody and to exhibit that these forms a re used with same techniques regardless of different needs, technologies and styles, both in the past and present.
